BTA Issues

Ive got a rose BTA that has been acting weird for about 3 weeks now. It just never opens up or extends. Most of the time its like it is in the first pic. Every now and then it shrivels up a bit more like in the other two pics.

Its not sticky, but does react if I touch it. It's firmly attached to the same rock months. Was doing fine for the first couple of months and has been like it is in the pics for the last 3 weeks or so. I have two other BTA's that are pretty close - about 5-6" apart and they are doing fine - and have been for several months.

No Ammonia or nitrite. Nitrate are usually very low, or at zero. Calc is 420-450, Mag is 1300-1350, KH is steady at 10dkh, temp stays betweeen 78.0 and 79.0. Lights are LED's from reefbreeders which are only turned up to about 50-60% - which seems to fine with the other two nems. They are all less than a foot away from an mp40 running at 50%. Salinity is ~1.025.

Any ideas? Ive tried moving it (the whole rock its attached to) to the bottom of the tank away from current, but there was no change. The clowns do host it in from time to time but normally only stay in breifly while they move from nem to nem. Everything is doing fine and growing.

I have had a couple nems act like this before. one I was able to save by moving it to another tank. Not sure why it was ok on this other tank though. The other one took a couple month to melt away and almost crashed my tank.

+1 to taking it out of your tank as it is not worth it if it decides to melt and cause toxin release.
