we have a BTA and seems to be doing great... color is great, its grown to double its size and eats all the time but it no longer bubbles up its always out strected. when we first got it it would always be bubble like and over time it does it less and less often and i was just wondering if this is normal thing. if anyone has any info it would be appricated thanks

That's just how they roll. Sometimes they bubble...sometimes they don't. Nobody knows why for sure...or if they do, they aren't telling.

I've had a BTA in my BC29 for 6 months and the same thing. It stays kinda stringy but the weird part is, it split a few months ago and the new BTA is right next to the old BTA but the new BTA has bubble tips.

mine split twice...interestingly enough, they have stayed tiny since the split and have only recently begun to move apart from each other.

I started adding Reef iodide from seachem and my BTA started bubbling back up. It could just be a coincidence, or not. My son emptied half the bottle in my reef and I didn't realize it for a week and I did notice my BTA started bubbling a whole lot.
