BTA not happy

Well my rbta seems to be unhappy. I had to move my tank 4 hours about 8 days ago so I figure that is probably the problem. All my params are good, it doesn't move around, is still attached, regurgitates brown slimy substance, and sometimes its mouth will stay open for a period of time and then close back up again. Opinions on how I should move forward? Sure don't want to lose it!

It could be stressed from the move and the change in location (flow and light would be different if you moved the rocks).

I would double check your params just to be on the safe side. A while back my tank looked a little off and it was because I was using a hydrometer to measure the salinity. It was at 1.031. I had just added a new MP10 and figured it was what was making things mad. But I checked the salinity with a refractometer and got the real reading and felt dumb.

What is your current lighting?

Brown slime and open mouth are bad signs. They usually mean nem decline from a bacterial infection.
What did you feed it? Sea food like silversides and shrimp can carry the bacteria.
Do not feed it now as that will make it worse. If it doesn't get better in a week you will have to do antibiotic treatments.

I never target fed it anything and still have not. All I feed in the tank is frozen mysis and a saltwater blend cant remember which one. What are the antibiotics and where can I get them if it comes to that?

Save yourself $$$ and buy some antibiotics before. I had that thought, but didn't do it, so I just had to shell out for FedEX Overnight Saturday delivery to treat my sick nem.

Great service from www.FishMoxFishFlex.com, called them to add another anti-biotic to my order, and they shipped same day, got here today at 10am!

I wouldn't use Cipro unless you remove the nem and treat it in another tank.
At the recommended dosage, 25 mg./ gal your nem may bleach and it may injure corals as well.
I have no experience with Septra.

Well guys a couple days later and my bta seems to be looking better, mouth has closed up, and it doesn't suck itself down to an extremely small size. Maybe it was just the shock from moving that made it unhappy. Im not entirely sure but just glad it seems to be doing better my clowns wouldn't know what to do without it!
