Wow, I'm surprised ... it was doing so well. Did you check your parameters, maybe do a water change? How warm is your tank getting. Mine is getting warm during the day and my RBTA doesn't seem to like that very much. Seriously considering cutting back on the MH on these really hot days. Keep us posted.

My tank temp is 78 im will check the water parameters when i get home . all my other nems are doing great in fact my GBTA just split .

Think I found the problem

Think I found the problem

My Nitrate are at 20ppm that is way way to high PLEAS HELP i need to know of a good way to lower FAST any help would be great tank you

I would say water change to reduce nitrates. I wouldn't panic though because nitrate is not too bad ... if it was nitrite i'd freak out. Just do a good size WC and see how it reacts. I noticed with mine that the Alk seems to make a difference too... did you check that one?

I have been reading all day about dosing surger i have ask my wife to add it to the tank so that when i get home i can test it . Will keep you all posted

I also have to agree that 20 ppm nitrates isn't too bad. When I first got my BTA 16 years ago, my nitrates we're well over 100 ppm (in the 140 range). Over several years of learning, I managed to get them down to sub 10 ppm, then I stopped testing.

So, what I'm saying is, 20 ppm isn't something you need to panic about and have someone else adding things to your tank when you aren't there. Especially when screwing it up could crash your tank...

yes you are right haveing my wife add something to my tank well im not there is a bad idea . I am going to do some water changes should i do one large one are lots of small one ? i now do a 20 gal water change every 2 weeks any thought

How big is the tank? I'd do 10% every week and see how they respond. You might want to double up on charcoal filter (if you can)... I use the filter pads and right now actually have two between the bubble trap to "double filter" the water before it goes into the return pump chamber.

I had a weird event last night looked like a massive spawn or something from those little starfish that are in every crevice ... they all came out at once and some looked like they were 'smoking' or something. I was really surprised to see how many were in there. I did a quick 15 g water change and added another layer of filter media and cranked up the protein skimmer. It started clearing quickly and all clear today and back to normal... like I said very weird.

I have a 85 gal DT and at 35 gal Sump

Ok, then a 10 % for you would be pretty easy. You could go 20% without too much more effort. I'd try 20% for the next two weeks in a row and see what happens then maybe 10% every week thereafter until things turn back around. How's the nemmie looking today?

Ok gang my nitrates are down to 10ppm this are looking good . I also just got one more Bleach BTA it is a green one for a really cheap price I will also post its recovery in this post .

Update 7-27-11

Update 7-27-11

1. Well the Anemone is doing good still eating really well as you can see in the pictures the tentacles are still stubby I have no idea what could be going on with my Anemone . I will just have to keep fighting this battle but you can clearly see that this Anemone is a Rose Anemone .

2. So I was at the pet store I saw this really badly bleach green bubble tip so I talk to the guy and pointed out that this Anemone was in bad shape and that I could give it what it need and if he could lower the price and he so kindly did that for me he even threw in the big piece of live rock that it was on at no charge so now I will me documenting the recovery of 2 BLEACH NEMS .

Any tips for feeding? I have an RBTA that I picked up about 5 days ago but havent had any success feeding it. Tried krill a couple times to no avail. Now he is on the underside of a rock making it more difficult to attempt. I've seen mysis mentioned a few times but they dont seem to stick to the tentacles (havent found a good method of delivery either; using a larger dropper).

Well first off it has only been 5 days I would wait a couple weeks let it settle in at that time when it has found its happy spot at that time you could hand feed I would try some scallops or raw shrimp but this needs to be really really a small piece about the size of a pea . Only feed every couple days . I have 5 anemone's out of the 5 one is on the back of the rock work but most stay where I would like them to stay . Good luck

So a couple weeks of no feeding a very little light wont be an issue? Understand it knows what it wants but I always think I know best lol.

Yes I would let it get use to your tank . It will move to the light and start doing some strange thing when getting use to your tank .you will know when it is ready to feed .
