BTA question

I just added two BTA to my tank last week. They are attached to the live rock and open, but their tentacles are very not inflating. They appear very thin. What could be the problem. My water parameters are:

pH 8.1
alkalinity 2.5 meq/L (7 dKH)
calcium 390
magnesium 1280
temperature 80
nitrite non detected
nitrate non detected
ammonia non detected

They are under two 150 watt metal halides.

A pic would help, but if you mean the tentacles are full, just not bubbled then that is normal.

+1 for normal but you could try feeding it !! also how old are your lights ?

1 week i wouldnt worry too much, they take some time to fully adjust to your system.

Is this constant or do they inflate at some points of the day? If so... normal. Leave them be.

They were originally green and after a day or so in my tank they have turned purple. Will they go back to green?

Huh???? Are you sure it's not your lighting?
