BTA sick?

You haven't fed the nem directly since you got it have you? If not, I would recommend it. My Rainbow BTA eats krill like a pig, I feed it 2-3 times a week or when I see its mouth open for more than 12 hours.

Well, looks like he's back to being all big and puffy, but if I feed him, wouldn't that encourage him to stay in that spot? I don't know what to do anymore :hmm4:

EDIT: Tried feeding it, didn't seem like it wanted to eat, tried 3 times. 1st time I completely missed and the force of the turkey baster spooked it a bit, then I tried again with a little less force and all the shrimp didn't touch it, 3rd time I managed to get it really close to his mouth and barely used force and a couple lot of shrimp touched him but looks like he only grabbed one (By the 3rd time, about half of his tentacles were short and retracted) with his tentacle. His mouth became swollen but only for about 15 seconds (I assume it does this when it's about to eat?). He still has that shrimp on his tentacle

dont feed it yet. once acclimated, ur bta will grab the food with no issue. my 4 bta didnt eat until a week or two after getting comfortable.

Alrighty, I won't feed him again.

By the way, how long does it take and how does it look like when he detaches his foot? My BTA's foot seems to be getting smaller and I think it might retract it to move soon. He's a bit deflated currently but his foot never appeared so small, even when deflated.

Well, my anemone finally moved and now he's upside down right above the rock he was on, I guess sooner or later he'll move soon to get enough light and flow.
