BTA slow death?

I have 2 rbtas in my tank which have been in the same place for around 5 months now both look happy and healthy.

I came across a nice gbta at my lfs 3 months ago and brought it home. It looked fine for about 2 months then it started looking shriveled and it lost all of its tentacles. Now it sits on the rock in the same place it has been but it looks like it is dying and it has zero tentacles left.

All my params have been stable and my other two BTAs look fine and have not showed any signs of stress. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

This has happened a few times with my bat's. On none of those occasions did the nem lose all it's tentacles. I lost the first but then I tried feeding them when that would happen and all have come back since. The worst one I had to hold the shrimp in front of it's mouth till it would show feeding response. That one isn't completely well mainly because it loves caves. So why is it happening my guess is not enough food/light. The gbta in question was acclimated but maybe the light was too much at first and caused acclimation stress reducing it's ability to take in light and or eat. Anyways that's just a guess about someone elses system that I don't stare at constantly lol.

I am just curious why it was fine for several weeks before it started to lose its tentacles. i was thinking about feeding it. but didnt know if that would stress it more

It probably was in decline early on and it wasnt as appearent. I would feed it. I had the same fear with that first one. If it eats you have a chance IMO. I fed small chunks (peanut size) 2-3 times a week.
