BTA versus Tunze turbelle Stream 6000

My BTA moved for about the third time in the week that I have had him. he looked healthy and eats but I guess he is trying to find a spot that he likes. I woke up this morning and he was stuck in the thin grates of the Tunze. This is different than the traditional powerheads where there is one inlet with a lot of suction. Since the suction is spread out more ( I think), the suction is not as great in any one spot. Also he cannot hot the propeller. I turned off the Tunze and he came out easily. There was a small part of him in the there. It looks like he lost one tentacle. Since he was on a small rock I was able to move him and the rock. Since that time he has now moved off the rock. He look good (I think) from the ordeal but I guess maybe there was some trauma. Should he be OK? How do these things usually play out?

Thanks,
Ken

BTAs seem to be extremely hardy, so hopefully he will be.

itll probley move agian tonight so keep a close eye on things. set your alarm clock and check on it

he had moved and now settled behind a rock near the mega flow on my tank. He looks OK. One of my clowns found him. The bad news is since he is behind a rock it's like he is not in my tank..... can't see him.

This is what happened to mine from my Tunze. It is doing ok now, I think that it is goign to make it! If yours doesn't look as bad as mine I'd say your fine! We did put small mesh over the outside of the streams now, this won't happen again!

I built mine a "cage" out of gutter guard and kept him in it until he found a spot he liked. After about 3 weeks of staying put, I removed the cage (this was two nights ago). I woke up this morning to hit chilling on my tunze as well :-P He lost more than a tenticle, but his insides weren't spewing out like adams either. His tenticles were very pulled in, but when I slowly set him on a rock, he grabbed it, so he's still kickin at least. We'll see if he makes it.

I'd be interested to hear from the really experienced BTA keepers how they have observed thier anenomes reactions to flow. Do they move towards the tunze for more flow? Or do they release to get away from a high flow spot they are in?

Mine survived fine, but did it again today. He is still fine. I think I'm gonna buy a fake one like on Sponge Bob. LOL.
