Help! Son's gone to college...Moms in charge. Look out!!! this is fun. Got a nice BTA 5 days ago. Won't take to any rock..just falls off. Tanks chemistry is perfect. All other family members including soft corals, clams, tangs shrimp...all great. 2 clown fish hanging out on the opposite end of the 55. Should I move the BTA over to the clown fish?? Maybe he will feel more at home...silly.
My son has tried several anenome's mostly long tenicle. Wandered until they died. Why? Thanks for the advice. I just bought a 220 so I have a big learning curve ahead...love it!

Define "tank chemistry is perfect."

Also, what did the BTA look like when you bought him? Was he having trouble holding on to rocks there? What color is it now?

What type of lighting is over this tank?

It's impossible for us to have any idea as to why the previous anemones died, but having several anemones die should be a big red warning flag that your tank just isn't a suitable home for anemones.
Without any more details on your tank, it's impossible to say what's causing your current nem to wander.
Please don't move your anemone, the more you mess with it the more you will stress it. Your anemone does not know that there are clownfish in the tank as it has no eyes, so it won't feel any more at home near the clowns.
