i have gbta in a 24gal aquapod and its not looking so good. when i first got it i only had stock lighting. fist i know, i was dum on gettin it with stock lighting but i had one long time ago in a 12gal befor so i went for it. the bta has been doin pretty good up to couple of months ago besides lookin alittle bleached, its going flat and goin into hiding and not letting out its tenticles and not really feeding (frozen foods). about a month ago i have up graded the lighting to 150mh 10,000k with 32w pc 32w dual actinic pc and
32w 10000k white pc. now the bta keeps moving around at times, has its mouth open and all. the owner at my lfs says it should be fine, just give it time. im just looking for maybe another opion on this or have i killed it by being dum. i have had the bta for now maybe 6 months now or alittle longer. the tank has been up and running for almost 2yrs now?

Sounds like you did not aclimate it to the new light and now it is stressed out. It is moving around and probalby looking for some shade.

i was not aware that i had too. now i think about it i kinda did, i only ran the light half of its normal time on for the first week. the bta has been the same way even befor the new light?

Maybe something in the water chemistry is not to its liking? Parameters? Pics? How frequently do you do water changes? do you run carbon? Is allelopathy a possibility?

i do 5-7gal water change aweek and will be truefull, i dont test my water all that much like i properly should and i guess thats cause of staying on top of my water changes and how clean the tank looks and that my leather toadstools and zoos are doin good. i think ill be stoppin by my lfs tomorrow for some new test kits and see whats goin on. ill try and post some pictures asap.
