Hi,

Tank is 65L
LIGHTING IS OCEAN Revive T247B bluce on 40% whites on 5% om 12 hours aday.
ALK 8.3
CAL 420
MAG 1380
TEP 26 DE DEGREES
NITRATE .2
PHOS UN DETECTABLE

It is a bit see through a bit glassy looking. I think its been like that since day one.

It looked bleached on the video. How often does it expell? And any chance it is catching excess food you are feeding? They expell a day after feeding.

In general it looks good. For 4 months it should be healthy. You can feed it twice a week to grow its colors back.

Also, normal expell, the BTA doesnt always completely shrink. You will just see stringy poop come out.

Sick expelling, they will always shrivel up to nothing.. Completely expelling the water inside

I feed it now and again im not in a routine of feeding, I only have two clowns and i generally target feed them. Maybe I will get into a routine of feeding twice a week to get its colour back, hopefully this will get it back on track. it reacts very well when i offer it food, and yes I have noticed it does expell a day or so after feeding. I think I will keep a log and see if there is a pattern in the expelling.

Mine does always shrink up, almost into nothing and it's mouth is normally wide open when shrivelled, what do you reckon sick?

If it were sick, it would probably be gone already

Just keep an eye on it. If it keeps expelling and getting smaller, i would treat it. No harm treating BTA. They react very well to Cipro.

How old is your tank?

It's around 10 months old I can get ciproflaxacin in tablet form, how do you treat?

I follow OrionN's method. treat in a separate tank. 250mg per 10gal. 100% water change daily. 7 days treatment. 7 days observation. put new medication in at night time.

If you do treat, and it stops expelling. Leave it in the QT for a few weeks after. If it doesn't expell in the QT, but expell in your DT. then you know something is off with your water or light.

I just put the tank next to a window so the BTA can get natural sunlight during treatment.

10 months is ok for an anemone. Tank should be established enough.

did you get this BTA as a clone from another person? or wild imports from a store?

Hi tanks for the info. I got it from my lfs not sure if it was wild or a clone from another.

How many times in a week is shrivling a bad sign? Also it's attached to a rock and it has some gsp on if i put the whole rock in for treatment I'm assuming the gsp won't dye but the rock can't be used in the dt again because of the antibiotics?

the rock can be used. antibiotics will be pretty much all gone after 24hrs. it will just be a dead rock that needs to go through cycle again.

a healthy BTA shouldn't shrivel at all. no expelling except after a large feeding
