i acquired a buddies lr on which i found a bta but it has reduced down to the size of a nickel. since i got him he has grown to a 1.50 stack of quarters. is there anything that can be done to help this little guy recoop faster. all of the lr was in a high phospate enviornment. or is it just a waiting game?

Can we see a picture? You're sure it's not aiptaisa, right? An anemone the size of a nickel always makes me just double check...

Majano can also be mistaken for a BTA its not as bad as aiptasia but still considered a pest

no i am positive that it is a bubble tip. it was purchased by my buddy who got frustrated when it began to get smaller. i tested his water and found very high phospates. he then told me he just wanted to go back to fresh water. that is how i got it.

Are you feeding it? As it's so small - it might be hard to feed. Is it bleached out? If not - then it's still getting food from the light.

Sorry I didn't mean to be so blunt. It is not bleached out and it does not take much if any food. Is it just a waiting game? I do appreciate your help.

I guess it is just a waiting game - and I'd keep trying to feed about twice a week if you can. But thats just my best guess!

what would you recommend as far as feeding goes?
is there anything that i should try as opposed to just brine?

You can try mysis shrimp..really brine shrimp has no natritional value. You could try plankton..it looks like baby shrimp. Its meatier than mysis. You can find it in the freezer at petsmart.

It is easy to pick up with feeding tongs or you could use a plastic syringe if the anemones tentacles aren't sticky. I don't defrost the whole cube though I cut it up into smaller pieces and put the rest in a freezer bag.





Once you are able to get it to eat this small food..move on to feeding the bta silversides, krill or raw shrimp.
