BTAs Dieing

My tank has been plagued with dinoflagallets, The dinos are killing off my bta's.

Would removing my anemones to a qt tank and treating with antibiotics have any effect on them or should I just try to qt them in fresh saltwater?

My dinos are slowly getting a little better from the treatment I have been doing, and I know my anemones are being effected by the treatment, (peroxide and fauna marin ultra algae x) but I fear by the time the dinos are gone the anemones will be dead. Will a freshly started qt tank be better for the btas or is it a lose lose situation?

Thanks for help!

lot of people take anemones out in QT to treat. Key is to keep that water clean. lots of water changes, good flow, good lighting and wipe the glasses often

make sure you match the QT parameter with DT's for a smooth transition

i doubt it's the dino killing your bta's. i would more be leaning towards the treatments like you mentioned. i have learned that i adding anything extra like that is asking for problems.

how old is your tank? params?

i would move them to a stable tank or qt until your dt gets settled. sounds like that might be quite awhile though.....

+1.

The presence of Dino's typically means an elevated level of organics. I assume you're using GFO?

You can also try elevating the pH. If not done too quickly, the nems probably won't mind.

It's the hydrogen peroxide that's affecting your btas. I battled Dino's a couple of years ago and each time I dosed hydrogen peroxide my h. Malu would deflate. Hydrogen peroxide also negatively impacted filter feeders; coco worms, porcelain crabs and etc. I would definitely remove your anemones in qt while you dose.

Alright got it into a tank where it wont be bothered by treatments for dinos, It looks like its spitting out a little bit of its guts at a time or something.

Should I get cipro and try to treat it? ahhhhhh I dont want him to die
