Bubble Algae Removal

I have a piece of live rock that has a few hard bubles I assume to be bubble algae on it. I plan on removing that piece of rock and getting tweezers and removing the bubbles out of my tank. Is there anything I should beware of while doing this? Is there anyway to make sure the rock are that the bubble is on is safe from this growing back?

Any suggestions?

I must admit that I just punctured the bubbles I couldn't reach by hand with a needle attached to a stick and haven't had any problems after that, but I've heard that you could risk releasing spores by puncturing the bubbles (if they are mature).

i was just curious if anyone knew if fresh water will kill the spores if they get released when i go to remove mine

Thanks Larry.

I still am wondering about if I take the live rock out of the tank to remove them if there is a way to "ensure" if they do break the spores are dead like dosing the spot with something before putting back in tank.

Anyone know this?
