Bubble algae

I noticed a few bubbles on one spot on the trunk of my torch coral. I pulled it out and had 3 cups of salt water ready. I took them off as best i could without popping in the first cup, but theyr so small i dont know if i popped them or not. I dipped and swirled in the second cup to try to rinse off any potential pores. Same thing in the third cup then put the torch back in my tank.

I read some people take them off in the dt while siphoning the area so i dont know if what i did is better or worse. Honestly i figured if i pop it in the dt theres no way to catch every spore so i thought having different batches of water to rinse it might be better.

I guess i have to wait to see if i screwed up or not. What do you guys think?

Also i havnt added any corals or rock or anything that would bring it in for over 3 weeks so im not sure where it came from or if it just grows randomly. And i sit infront of this tank hours at a time somedays so i would have noticed.

Really just putting it out there for you guys to tell me if im and idiot or not an idiot. That is the question.

What you did is totally fine... Nothing at all wrong with that..
stuff just grows in these tanks.. It happens.. you did just fine..
You did way more than I would have done by pulling/swirling,etc..... I usually just reach in and pull and if it pops.. It pops.. I keep nutrients low so I don't really worry about a bit of algae here or there.. It will never become a problem.. Just part of life..

Not sure if that was an attempt at humor or what from junbug...

Thanks alot guys i appreciate the replies this is my first experience with most of this stuff so i just want to make sure im not screwing it up.
