bubble alge ?

OK I had to open my big mouth! (jink) I looked at on of the areas that had a medium size piece of bubble algae. an it was opened must be one of the fish that took a bite and popped it! what now? To late the spores are floatting around and I do not know when this happened????

i put 4 emerald crabs in my reef and they removed 5 big black bubble algea growths in 3 weeks!!!!! it worked for me!

emerald crab & foxface

I'm quite new, bought lots of corals and liverocks off another reefer. There were many bubble algaes on the rocks and corals. Did my research and found out it was bubble algae. There were so much on the corals so I just threw the corals in the trash. I took all the live rocks out and remove the bubble algaes by hand. I don't want a crab so heard Foxface will also eat bubble algaes. Bought a Foxface and he won't even bother touching the bubble algaes, all he do is eat all the foods I feed my fishes. He is useless. I still have a few bubble algaes pop up here and there, finally went out and bought two Emerald Crabs, and they eat everything. They will scrape everything they pass through. They definitely will remove bubble algaes but they also removed all my coralline algaes and leave ugly white scrapes throughout the tank. I think the best way to keep bubble algaes under control is to just take the rocks out and go through them one by one. Remove every bubble algae you see. Or if white scrapes all over the place doesn't bother you, then get some crabs.
