bubble coral

we have just bought a bubble coral. at the store the coral was really large and had a pink color. it has been in our tank now for 2 days but has not reached the size of it in the store. it is also not as pink it is more of a greenish pink. if any one can help us on the coral it would be appreciated.

alot depends on the lighting it came from and what it is under now. it may just be a light green bubble coral which is a plus for you. Sometimes it takes a few days for corals to acclimate itself fully to your water conditions. if it is opening up you are fine. if it stays closed then I would be worried

Depends on how much of it is up against the rock. If the bubbles are not actually squished against a rock, it shouldn't matter much. FWIW, it may take a few days or more for it to really acclimate and look happy. Also, these corals do not like a lot of light or flow and too much of either can keep them deflated. If he just doesn't look right after a few weeks, try another spot. I have mine under a 175w halide at the bottom of the tank (30"+ from the light). He's happy. He deflates every night but inflates up over the rocks during the day.
good luck with yours.

he is starting to open up more but he is up against a rock on one side could that block him from fully inflating?

The rock might irritate it and keep it fom opening.
I am sure the change in color is just the differance in lighting. I seldomly see the same color in my tank as it was at the LFS. Give it some time to acclimate and not too much flow on it.
