Found one for $650 used....should I pull the trigger on it? I have a 90 gallon with 20 gallon sump and soon to be 20 gallon frag tank. It's on the border of being to big of a skimmer now but I'm looking at a 180 in the next year or so...

Any thoughts?

Isnt that skimmer rated at 135 gallons

From what I know they are right on with their ratings IMO might be a bit high for a 90 depending on sump size but should be right on a 180

I agree with Gary. $1000's for a new skimmer seems expensive...$650 used still seems high. I paid in the high $200's for my octopus skimmer and never had any problems but hey if you want it...get it. You have a nice tank, Thanks for the frags.

I got a reef Octopus150 Id let go for $150, AND it would do you just fine for a lot less

An expensive skimmer won't buy you happiness. Buy a vortech and pocket the other $250, or blow it on corals. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a BK, but that's just too extravagant in a hobby that's expensive enough IMO

But then again, if you're loaded, sure, buy it :thumbsup:
