Bubble King Mini Question for Owners

Hello. I'm trying to lay out dimensions for a sump. I want to leave room for a potential upgrade to a BK Mini 160. I see the base plate is 7.1" x 7.1". Does it need any additional clearance, or would 7.25" wide skimmer section suffice?

U will need room for the outlet pipe on the left hand side. I got my mini 160 today. from the left edge to the return pipe its 9.5 inches wide. I will prolly make my sump 10"-10.5" wide in my skimmer section. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I'm a little late on responding.

Do I just need ~10" in one direction? For instance, would a 7.25" x 18" skimmer section footprint suffice?
