Bubble King Skimmer Club

Hi all, I need an advice, I actually have a BBK 300 internal Deluxe model with the titanium impeller... I'm going to change my tank for a 2000Liters aquarium. Can You tell me if my skimmer will fit nicely to the tank (I use ozon) Or should I go for a BBK 500 I can get for an extra 400 euro... Thanks guys

Looking at a Bubble king mini 200 for a 95 gal. 30 gal sump. do you guys think it would be a good choice? I have a SWC 160 now, looking for a upgrade

Hello everyone,

I'm a new proud owner of a Bubble King Mini 180 Gen 2. The skimmer came in a couple weeks ago and hasn't let me down. I upgraded from a Reef Octopus NWB-150, so huge upgrade. I'm running it on a 90 gallon w/ 20 gallon sump.

When I got home from work, this had been dragged from our porch into our entrance way:

I immediately opened the box to check out my new BK Mini 180:

And another layer of padding:

Here's the skimmer:

No more wrap and looks and feels just as I'd imagined:

I love the collection cup:

This thing is LARGE, glad it just barely fit into my sump:

Only thought is to wonder if I should have gone with the BK 160. The skimmate you see is after almost two weeks of skimming. What do you guys think?

Why buy a grass shot at Jamba Juice? A little bit of this stuff goes a long way. I prefer to add some half and half for consistency.

Reseat the o-ring into the groove in the white pvc. Use some silicone grease to help seat it and you should be good to go.

Its not leaking there it is leaking at the bottom of the cup .
if i take the cup off completely and fill with water it leaks above the o-ring about 3/4"

You might try using some weldon #3 and just resealing it. It should be a really easy fix regardless unless the cup is busted up.

I would recommend starting at around 7.5". Give yourself the option of going up to about 9". This skimmer should have a telescoping wedge pipe, which doesn't make it as dependent upon sump water depth.

Hi all,
I have just bought BK 300 Deluxe External for my tank. I am just wondering if there is any English manual available. Also, I will be using Eheim 1260 Universal pump that is rated at 2400L/H as a feed pump. Is that the right pump to use?

the other thing is that my tank is only 250G and the skimmer is oversized for the tank, but my friend just recommend a larger than normal skimmer. Will this oversized skimmer be a problem?

Thank You
Karn K.

That pump should be just fine for the 300, although I would still put a ball valve on it to be safe. Depending on your bioload of the system the skimmer should be ok.

Jeremy: Is there is a significant difference in skimming capacity between an Alpha 200 and an ATB 840? I have an 840 on a pretty heavily stocked 130 net gallon SPS system and am wondering whether an Alpha 200 would do a better job.
