Bubble King Skimmer Club

Yes, you would just have to use your own base plate. We do have the Red Dragon blocks in stock with a base plate on you'd have to remove and glue your own back to it.

Hey Jeremy. Do you guys have in stock the pump plus impeller for the Super Marin 250?
And if so, price pls.
Thank you

Hi,

We have the motorblock and the impeller assembly in stock. We do not have the front cover (volute) in stock to make it complete though. It's really only a replacement impeller assembly or a replacement motorblock you need, one or the other, not both.

Price on the motorblock is $359 and the impeller assembly is $199.

I am looking to purchase a Bk internal skimmer and I need some help to make the desicion.
I have a 150gl display with a 95gl sump ( I am plannig for sps and lots of fish).
I have 2 options in the sump; 13"x11" or 17"x18" I would rather use the small of the two spaces but getting the best skimmer for the system it is more important.
Thank you in advanced

Do you plan on having anything stocked in the 95g of sump water, or will it be water only? Also, is it a true 95g, or is that the maximum capacity of the sump by calculating outside dimensions?

What´s the difference between bk 180 gen2 or gen3 ?

I already had one 180 gen2 and now I´m going to Orlando and I would like to buy the gen3 in premium aquatics

Best Regards

Was wondering when you expect to have either the BK SM 250 or the BK DC 250 in stock with the new pump. Thx

We should have all of them in our warehouse by the end of this week. Also, all Super Marin's that we are importing going forward will have the Red Dragon 3 DC Speedy Pump on them as well.

The only upgrade from the Gen 2 to Gen 3 (vs '12 models) was the addition of an anti-calcium bypass loop on the pumps. The Gen 2 models can be upgraded to the Gen 3 by switching the motorblock and front pump cover out.

I joined the club today with a SM250! Jeremy do they still sell the SCH? How much does it cost? Are there any SCH that will fit this skimmer that also have the water cleaning feature that the BK has?

Thanks,

Adam

Hey Adam, BK is no longer offering the self cleaning head, which was actually made by AquaDriver. The quality on these turned out to be really bad, so BK pulled the product. Look into the Vertex SCH, that should work perfect for you and is a much improved product over the old AquaDriver.

Thanks Jeremy. Do you guys have this? I didn't see it on the site. If you do please shoot me an e-mail with the link (ac@stuygroup.com).

I have a question. The skimmer is in 9" of water right now. What does the red piece on the pump do to it? I have been adjusting with the wedge pipe but I was wondering what the red piece that can get extended does.

Thanks,

Adam

We are no longer carrying Vertex products, so what we have left on the website with Vertex is it.

Red nozzle is an adjustable venturi. The more it's screwed out (counter-clockwise) the more air draw the skimmer will have and the less water flow that will be put into the body. The more it's screwed in the less air it will receive, but the more water input it will have. I'd suggest having the nozzle set at 1 1/4 turns backed out from the fully closed position.

Here is a link to the Super Marin owner's manual:

If you scroll down to page 5 that will explain it all in some more detail for you.

Trully impressed!

Finally part of the BK skimmer club. I now have a BK Supermarin and so far so good.
Thank for helping Jeremy.
I do however have a question about tuning in the BK. In the manual, pg 2, there is an image of the bubbles breaking half way up the neck. Is that correct? Should it be that low?

That's a bit low and will cause it to skim really dry. I'd try setting the water level inside the body about 1" under the bottom of the collection cup / screw connection.

Jeremy I am still having trouble dialing in my new skimmer. It's been a little more than two weeks now and I can't seem to get any kind of consistent skimmate out of it. I would like to see if you can help me troubleshoot this. I am not sure when someone says waterlines what are we referring to. I am not sure where the small bubbles break into big bubbles should be. I am not sure on any of the levels whatsoever at this point. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated or anybody here on this forum for that matter.
Thank you in advance to anybody who is able to help.
