Hello i have RE DoubleCone 250 60w pump,22 cm deep, 200g tank.
Maybe you know best setting's for pump? Now i use 44w but not have dry foam. : Headwally:

44 watts is high. I normally recommend 36-40 watts. How large is your display and how many fish to you have in it.

That skimmer is very oversized for your setup and fish load. You will need to run it wet to keep it somewhat consistent since your 12 fish will not provide enough dissolved organics to keep a good consistent foam head. I would back the power down to 38 watts and use the wedge pipe to raise the line where bubbles turn to foam up about 1/2 above the bottom of the neck.

Since you fish load is low, a Double Cone 180 would be perfect. If you get that, run the pump at 18-22 watts. If you plan a lot more fish, then a Double Cone 200 with the pump set beteen 28 and 32 watts.

I thought to take a DC250 model so that there was a reserve for the future. And how to calculate the load so that it works well? Thank you very much.

If you look at our tank size range which is based on display size and not system volume, at the low end of the range, it is assumed that you will have a "œheavy" load which is about 1/2" of fish per display gallon for a truly heavy load. Our skimmers are very conservatively rated so going too large is not a good thing.

Hello, in DC200 60w pump, you think for PH better 32 w or 50? now i use CO2 Scrubber but ph very low(7.8 night 8.07 day) I don't know what to do to raise it

Slief - Is RE BK skimmers the only brand that the rating is based on the display volume vs total system volume? Currently have 150 gallon tank, 80 sump and 15 frag tank. I'd estimate total water volume around 170 gallons, based on rock and equipment displacement.

Currently running a BK DC200

The skimmer will perform much better at 32w than at 50. We don't even run the 250's at 50w. Your pH of 7.8 at night is fine. That is about where mine runs at night.

I wouldn't say they are the only brand that rates them that way. All skimmers should be rated that way but some are over rated while others like Bubble King are conservatively rated. Skimmer sizing is based on theorhetical loads meaning the amount of fish and the waste they can produce. Our sumps (and refugiums) don't add to the load. They help reduce the load and thus should not be included when sizing a properly rated skimmer since the load is generated in the display.

It will not skim as well. Too much turbulence and the bubbles will pop at the surface instead of making thicker foam. 60w isn't even used on 300 sized skimmers which perform best at 48-52w. But it's your choice. Remember that air rises in the skimmer and because of that, the extra amount of o2 in the tank water will be next to nothing so the amount of impact on the pH will be very minor and really not worth impacting skimmer performance. If you want to increase your dissolved oxygen, the best way to do that is with surface agitation meaning having your your return lines up next to the surface of the display or power heads creating lots of flow.

21cm is very low. Increase the sump level 23cm! Then you can open the pipe more.
