Bubble magus triple doser

I'm using one, you can see it in this photo:

IMO it's pretty well constructed, I've been using it for about 2 months and it's doing just fine.

The timer / program can be setup quite easily, and the small LCD screen provide enough information such that you can setup the timer without reading the manual (but reading it sure helps ;p)

The only CON of this device is the noise when the pump is running, but I think all dosing pumps are noisy.
:bounce3:nice tank mate :bounce3:

Anyone have any issues with the BM triple doser so far? I know it's still new so I'm just looking to see if there have been any issues after running them for a while. Sort of a bump on this thread....

Interesting, is there such a thing as a single BM dosing pump or Octopus brand dosing pump?, I only need one for my ATO because the aqualifter I have is basically a dispossable pump.

solos2: what is the maximum you can dose from one pump per 24 hours? Is it about 48 liters? The website is not clear. Thanks

Well, I got that number because I thought that "max flow: 1-1999mL" meant flow per dosage and I multiplied that by the max number doses per day (24). But it seems maximum dosage is 1999mL per day.

I've had mine running for about a month now with no real issues. Right now it's only dosing CA and ALK but I'll be putting Mag online shortly as well. The expandability aspect is nice also. I believe you can get up to 8 additional pumps (2 units) online and controlled via access ports on the back of the controller unit.

I'm running sump-less currently and have the unit mounted beneath my tank in the stand. Which brings up another great point. The unit comes with its own clear and black acrylic stand. You mount the doser stand with two screws in the back where you need it elevated above your supps, while the pumps hang nicely over the edge.

The pumps aren't exactly quiet but aren't super loud either. You'll know they're running, which I actually like because when I hear a pump kick on I can take note of the time and in my situation, they run for a whole 3 or so seconds for each dose so no big deal. So far every dose has been right on. I currently dose 25ml of cal and alk daily broken up into 8 increments. Meaning the unit will dose 3.1ml of cal and alk every 3 hours. Since I need the pumps to push the supplements up around 3' up to the DT I need to dial up the requested amount. For pump1, with the headloss, 26ml programmed into the unit will give me 25 in the DT. Pump2 requires 27ml programmed into it I believe. The acrylic tubing mount is a nice piece. It's designed for the rimless sumps I think though. I had to dremel a bit of the sides to allow it to fit on the trim of my tank.

The unit seems solid enough, the pumps are a bit chinsey though. They are controlled via spinning rods coming out of the unit. You can snap off the peristaltic pump units, then remove the face of the pumps themselves allowing access to the rollers (3) and tubing should you need to replace it. Two out of the pumps worked fine out of the box. Pump 2 needed a little wiggling to make a better connection onto the spinning rod then worked fine. All three pumps fit nicely on the unit and wobble around a bit when running. Nothing serious, doesn't hinder performance from what I can tell, just mentioning it.

When the power goes out, the unit will remember the time and your dosing schedule so you don't have to worry about that either.

So far I'm extremely happy with the unit. I originally wanted to go with 2 or 3 BRS dosers hooked up on timers, but they didn't have them in stock at the time and I was getting sick of dosing everyday and got antsy. This is essentally 3 pumps and 11 timers that can be set to dose 1ml - 1999ml broken up into 24 increments if you like.

I'll take some shots and see about a vid later tonight maybe. IMO well worth the $

Great info Crank.
I have a nano tank and am currently dosing about 5-7ml of two part per day. I don't see my tank every day so I thought this would be a great way to keep things consistent.
Does the unit come with soft or rigid tubing?

I just pre-ordered my BM doser from So Cal Aquatics.

Soft airline tubing.. Not the regular stuff you would use on an airstone or aqualifter though. I originally thought that it was correct and it does fit but the ID of that tube was just a bit too large. You need to use "mini airline tubing". It will come with around 6-7 feet of it so depending on your setup, you might not need more. The extra stuff that I got was 6 feet mini airline tubing with adapters for connecting to normal airline tube.

+1 I love this machine!

Thanks Crank. Could anyone suggest on-line stores to get these? Nuocean is always out. Seems like this doser is hard to get...

Not sure where you can get it yet.. NuOcean and TB seen to be taking preorders only now.. Only US retailer I know of that sells them..

Here's some shots of the goods:

You just missed them on NuOcean. I just received mine via priority mail from them last Thursday. Wow, now they are out of stock!

BRS dosers need a separate timer too, so the bubble magus doser is a much better buy especially if you get it for $270!

Just so I make sure I have this right, do the bracket and hose clamp thingy come with the pump? or must they be purchased separately? I see them listed separately at Nuocean so I was not sure.
