Bubble magus triple doser

BRS dosers need a separate timer too, so the bubble magus doser is a much better buy especially if you get it for $270!

If you aleady have a contoller than the BRS dosers are great. I agree that if you don't have a controler these seem good.
 
Can these units be set to just run at night or is it an hourly thing only?

The answer is no, but kind of. You can get close.

The controller lets you set how many mL of a supplement you want to dose per day on a certain pump. It then let's you choose how you want to break up that mL amount into smaller doses during the day and when to start it.

So for instance:

If you wanted to dose 30mL of alk all at once on Pump1 at 22:00 you can do so.

Alternatively, you could break up that 30mL dose of Alk through the day into 3 smaller ones if you wanted. So the controller will break it up evenly across a 24 hour period. So in this case.

10mL dose at 22:00
10mL dose at 06:00
10mL dose at 14:00

Depending on the amount of supplement you want to dose, the controller will let you split them up to a maximum of 24 smaller doses through out the day.

You can break them up in the following manner:

Dose amount (mL): Cycles/day
1: 1,2
2: 1,2,3,4
3: 1,2,3,4,6
4-5: 1,2,3,4,6,8
6-11: 1,2,3,4,6,8,12
12-160: 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24
161-319: 2,3,4,6,8,12,24
320-479: 3,4,6,8,12,24
480-639: 4,6,8,12,24
640-959: 6,8,12,24
960-1279: 8,12,24
1280-1919: 12,24
1920-1999: 24

The controller also forces you to pick start times for a pump based on the other pumps settings. Meaning you can't have 2 pumps run at 12:00. The closest you can dose 2 pumps between each other is 5 minutes. So you can setup a calcium schedule to start at 12:00 on one pump and the closest you could dose alk on a another pump to 12:00 is 12:05. This is a built in feature and can't be overridden. Looking at buying this or 3 Drews... would love to hear how it's still working for folks. I don't have a lot of spare plug space, so the 1 outlet needed beats the 3 for sure!

Hey guys I have been using my BM doser for a couple of months now. I picked it up from TB aquatics and haven't looked back. I was torn between the BRS dosers and the BM, at the end of the day it came down to cost and not having the extra sockets/timers/ etc. to run the BRS dosers. So far it has been a good choice..

I am not sure about the warranty-give TB aquatics a call or email. They are very responsive.
 
Mine has been running for a little over a month. I dose 2 part along with my top off water (luckly my evaporation is just under 1/2g a day so I can get by with the 1999ml daily dosing limitation of the pump). Although it hasn't been running for very long, I have had no problems to date. I also like the fact that it is easy to program.

I am pretty sure you can program it so it only runs during a certain hour range? Say from 10AM to 9PM?

Programing the dosing is a little awkward at first, mostly because the insturctions that I recieved were terrible. Looks like someone took a chinese version and did a strait tranlation with typos.

In any event you are allowed to dose between 1-1999 ml in a 24 hr perioud. Depending on how much you dose you are given a certain number of dosing increments. I don't think you can specifically dose in the time range as you are suggesting-the dosing programs are not that flexible.

In my case, I dose all pumps once a day 5 minutes apart and that works for me, but I could see how someone might want to dose alk at night or something like that. You can obviously begin dosing at a particular time but if you break the dose up i believe it will dose every N hours where N is 24/X and X is the number you break your dose in to (e.g., 1 a day, 2 a day etc).

I ordered mine from fishstreet.com in China. I had a motor go bad in the first year. It was covered under the warranty so I sent the unit back and they sent me a whole new doser. They were in contact with me throughout the whole process and the customer service was great. I know a lot of people were worried about the service end of these but through my experience it has been nothing but A+. Hope this helps people make a sound dicision.

You can not replace the pumps individually on these units, the unit becomes U/S? or at least lost one pump.

I think these are great units but huge concern in regards to servicing especially after warranty. The buy in price is great, but does not become cheap if it fails after a year.

When I contacted Fishshteet they said each pump can be replaced for $40. So i'm assuming that you can replace the pumps if needed.
