Bubble Rose Tip Anemone Missing - HELP

I have a 30 gallon established biocube (3 years) - still the original stock doing great- I have never suffered a loss yet. I have 2 ocellaris clowns, a watchman goby, and a purple firefish, a cleaner shrimp, a tuxedo urchin, montipora, frogspawn, open brain, some zoanthids and mushrooms and some kenya trees. Everything has been doing great. Three months ago I bought a rose bubble tip anemone she has been in the middle of the tank on the sandbed since day one doing great. She eats expands during the day (I have halide and actinic blues at night). She bubbles up and had the most beautiful color. I left for the weekend this weekend and had my daughter feeding my fish. I returned today and my bubble rose tip anemone is missing. I Looked for it everywhere and I can't find it. I mean it's a 30 gal biocube. I can't find it. I did a water change, replaced carbon, cleaned up and I can't see it anywhere. Where is it?

I am not a novice to reefing. I've had pretty good success. I have a 130 gallon with anemones that split constantly and are large. But this is a mystery. I would expect to see cloudy water if it had died. But it wasn't. And, I am looking for a cocoon somewhere and don't see one.

What are your ammonia & nitrate levels?
Unfortunately, it sounds like overfeeding -> nitrate spike -> nem passed away :-(

I have several bta's, at least a dozen. I've had one that moved a few times because it got stung by an other bta. It took me a while to find it as it was balled up and shrivelled in a crevice. I only found it because I used a very bright flashlight. As you correctly said, they 'cocoon' and shrivel to at least 1/10th of their original size becoming hardly larger than a penny. When that happens to make things even more difficult, their column becomes a pasty grayish color making it very difficult to see them attached to a rock.
Double check your overflow. Keep looking, but don't stress out, they don't just disappear in thin air...errr water :)

They dont just dissappear how is everything else doing? You sure it hasnt just went into a hole in the rock? How long have you been monitering it for signs since you have been back?

I left Friday (3 days ago) and she was in the sand bed where she has been the last few months very happily. She was opened and beautiful and even fed nicely. I arrived last night late and lights were already off in tank. This morning when lights went on I looked and the anemone had disappeared. No where to be found. Everything else in the tank is doing fine - the SPS - the LPS - the fish - levels seem fine.

It's strange to just disappear like a fart in the wind. Can it be in your overflow box?
I had me of mine in there for a while. How big was it? When did your daughter feed it and saw it last? Is it possible it went on your powerhead on Friday and by Monday morning and the water cleared up in those days? Maybe behind a rock? Did you move things around to try and find it?

Did it host your clowns and are they missing too? If so he is hiding and is probably splitting. That is what mine did. My clowns were with it...
