I have a 30 gallon established biocube (3 years) - still the original stock doing great- I have never suffered a loss yet. I have 2 ocellaris clowns, a watchman goby, and a purple firefish, a cleaner shrimp, a tuxedo urchin, montipora, frogspawn, open brain, some zoanthids and mushrooms and some kenya trees. Everything has been doing great. Three months ago I bought a rose bubble tip anemone she has been in the middle of the tank on the sandbed since day one doing great. She eats expands during the day (I have halide and actinic blues at night). She bubbles up and had the most beautiful color. I left for the weekend this weekend and had my daughter feeding my fish. I returned today and my bubble rose tip anemone is missing. I Looked for it everywhere and I can't find it. I mean it's a 30 gal biocube. I can't find it. I did a water change, replaced carbon, cleaned up and I can't see it anywhere. Where is it?
I am not a novice to reefing. I've had pretty good success. I have a 130 gallon with anemones that split constantly and are large. But this is a mystery. I would expect to see cloudy water if it had died. But it wasn't. And, I am looking for a cocoon somewhere and don't see one.
