Bubble tail?

Hi guys,
Maybe someone has seen this before? One of my horses has bubbles and swelling on the tip of her tail? This horse has been like this for a week now and other than the way the tail looks, she is still acting normal-eating well and spending the day hunting and playing with her tank mates. I had nuked the tank for worms that were eating my snails and haven't seen any bristols or friends but I have noticed I have anemone like organisms that extend transparent tentacles with small white bubbles tips on them, other than that the water quality and tank set-up is good.
Here are some pics-thanks in advance :)

sorry i have no answer but i hope shes okay shes beautiful.
i know though that tank parameters and some info will help out getting you an answer good luck

Looks like external gas bubble. I have had this happen but the tail would be bouyant. Is that the case with yours?

YES! Now that you mention it, I have noticed that she has been spending a great deal of time at the top of the tank wrapped around the filter return-and as I am watching her swim it is buoyant! So what method did you use when this happened to your horse? And thank you for your help, what a relief it isn't something like a hidden crab or horse eating worms-you just never know in this hobby...

I would treat with Diamox. I would also move to a hospital tank for the treatment and lower the temperature 4 degrees over the course of 24 hours until you hit 68F.

I don't normally like to link to other sites, but you should visit the Emergency Forum on Seahorse.org for treatment advice. There are just not the seahorse disease specialist here and I do not feel comfortable walking you through the treatment. Also I do not have diamox, and you need either a "person" who has some they can ship you or a vetrinary prescription. There are people there who are willing to ship.

IMO the problem your experiencing is GBD.

IMHO if you have a protein skimmer attached to the tank, you should move it to the sump or remove completely, and place a powerhead ointed to the surface of the water for increased aeration.
Really the best thing you could do for your horse would be to seek the council of the Emergency forum on Seahorse.org.

I think I have some Diamox that a local enthusiast hooked me up with-love the people in this hobby! Thanks for the advice, my first year of SH keeping I lost the most beautiful herd of yellow Reidi due to GBD, after two more years of the same failure I pulled the protein skimmer for good but there was still the problem of the rich fat from the enriched mysis that polluted the water with an oil slick at the surface so I have been running an air stone to help relieve this-but if you say a small power head will work, then I am on it. I will go onto Seahorse.org and see what I can find. Thanks again.
Edit: Wow, first topic in the emergency forum is dealing with the same problem-bubbles on the tail, amazing-thanks again guys :) I like RC because I can easily post pics and am familiar with navigating it, but your right, it may not be as specialized as SH.org.
