Bubble Tip Anemone Hitching A Ride On A Snail!

Last night I was working on my tank and noticed my small bubble tip anemone was kind of in a crack in the rocks. It is very small and hasn't acted to good lately. It is maybe the size of a dime.

I took it out of the crack a put it on a rock. It drifted off the rock and onto the sand bed. I went to get some tongs to get it and when I came back I couldn't find it. I looked all over and finally gave up.

About 2 hours later I was looking at the tank and spotted the anemone. It was attached to a turbo snail! It was so funny!

I took it off the snail and put it back on the rocks. The anemone looks better than it has in a while. I snapped some shots...

Jamie,
Cute picture.

I have a sailfin too. I've had her for about a year now. She gets a little cranky when I add new fish and seems to boss them around for a couple of days.

He came with the tank. Just doesnt have a lot of personality. He does look cool when his sails are up, but not one of my favorite fish. He will eat out of my hand though!

Interesting. I have always liked the look of the Sailfin. I guess you could say that I am kind of a Tang lover.

I have a Naso that has a really good personality. I can also hand feed it and it watches me all the time when I am around the tank. The only thing odd about the Naso is that when I feed the tank, it's so busy watching me that it does not see the food entering the tank. I need to poke the Naso to get it to turn around. This happens 3-4 times a week.

lol I know you're not a huge fan of him.

I like his stripes, and I'm really not a tang lover. Except for the powder blue.
Isn't Gary M a fan of sailfin tangs... ? lol

I love the powder blues! Chip is in QT and doing great! 2 more weeks in prison for him.

I don't think I am keeping the Sailfin. I really want a Hippo Tang and I don't think I can do 3 tangs in one tank. So I am still thinking about it....

If Gary needs a Sailfin...I have a nice one! Or if anyone else is interested in it....

Jamie,
I have a blue hippo and sailfin in my tank. They get along fine but I had the blue first and then added the sailfin. Don't know about the powder blue ones. My sailfin is pretty territorial and harrasses anything else put in the tank. Be careful when you add the powder blue. You may have to remove the sailfin and stick him in prison for a week or two so the powder blue can get used to the tank and establish territory of its own.

I really want a powder blue too but am too afraid to attempt it.

Good luck and let's see some pictures.

Carrie,

I had the powder blue in my display with the Sailfin. They got along great. My sailfin is pretty laid back. The sailfin was fine when I added the powder blue.

However, as you yourself predicted, the powder blue got ich. He has been in QT for 2 weeks now and looking great. He was looking really bad...with his skin cracking, sunken belly, ich all over. He was even missing a chunk out of his stomach.

He has been in QT and I am treating him with meds and feeding him like crazy. He looks awesome and is eating well. I am not going to put him back in for another 2-4 weeks. He was a b*#&! to catch so I am going to make sure he is fine!

I have certainly learned my lesson on QTing fish.

:fun4:

Jamie,
Nice looking fish. I saw a powder blue in Rochester this weekend that looked great and I really wanted to get it but thought better of it.

Sorry to hear about the ich.
