I was concerned after reading an article yesterday.
I'm so glad I can keep him.
He's the most active & visible mandarin I've ever seen. He sleeps right near the front of the tank a few inches from the clownfish and her mushrooms.
I haven't even had problems with my mandarin pair and a Magnifica which has eaten several chromis. They seem to be pretty competent at staying away from it. I have never had trouble with BTAs. They aren't very good fish catchers. I wouldn't try it with a carpet though.
