My bubble tip anemone has lost his bubble tips and has browned up in the last month? why

This post is for my buddy. he is not a member your help would be great. thanks nate

Sure it's for your "buddy." ;)

This is pretty common if you just got it. If you've had it for a while it could be a change in light bulbs. Generally if they turn brown that's a good thing. It usually means they were starving before.
These are really just generalizations. I'd need to know how long your friend has had it, what it used to look like and if there have been any recent changes to the equipment or parameters.....

Going to pretty much echo what Walt said.

The BTA browning ( assuming it was whitish before had ) is a good thing, means it is regaining its Zoax. -- the algae that lives inside and provides energy.

As for it no longer having bubble tips, that is what happens. No one has been able to pinpoint exactly why that happens, and how to bring them back.

the only change was when it moved from the fish store to his house. salt 1.25 ph 8.2 nit 0 amn 0. Thanks for the info.

I too would say its a good thing. I have been told not to buy the BTA's that are bleached in color. So yours regain its color means a healthy anemone.
