Bubble Tip Anenome

Any way to secure it from moving around the tank in a mixed coral tank?

Trying to avoid it stinging other corals.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, no. You can use a small powerhead to convince it to move along if it tries to settle in a place you don't like (ie - on top of your favorite coral colony!), but it's going to keep roaming around until it finds a spot it likes.

Yea! Thanks.. I was hoping to secure it, but I don't think it will like that..lol!

my bubble tip is right in the middle of alot of my coral and i have no prob with it bothering any of them! really do think you have much to worry about!!

Yea! For the most part they are ok. I had a bad experience once, where my GBT stung a CandyCane colony.. It killed half of it, but it did recop and rebuild itself.

glue it! LOL!

place it in a location that has strong light and low flow. mine is at the middle bottom, part sandbed beside some rocks. it is besides some sps, a lobo, a ricordea, etc. and does not seem they bother each other. also hosting a tomato.

lol! you glued your anenome??

I hope gluing the anenome was just sarcasm ;). You can only guide the BTA with powerheads. Hopefully it picks a nice spot facing the front of the tank, and not in the back!

Honestly if your water params are good, params are stable, you have enough light, you acclimate it to your lights, and you find a good spot for it, its not going anywhere. They like to have their foot in a crevice and stretch towards the light. they also like to be under an overhang where they can get out of the light if they want to. Most of mine have never moved at all.

i have mine on a pillar separated from the corals. Its never moved but i doubt it would just let go and float across the tank if the params are good.

I started with one RBTA. Had four at one point. :) That's when I stopped feeding them directly.

Mine never really moved, but they will sting and kill some surrounding corals as they grow. At it's largest, my original was nearly 10" in diameter.

I still think they're beautiful, but I probably wouldn't do it again.
