bubble tip anenome

I have a bubble tip anenome now for about 6 weeks. It has been very healthy and opening up nicely everyday. Today it closed up and pulled itself into a hole in the live rock for no apparent reason. The only other time it has done this is on a 10 % water change. Is this normal ?

Yes, bubble tips react by moving and going behind rocks on the slightest pretext. It's nothing to worry about because in my experience they're pretty hardy and can do well once they've decided to settle in. My GBTA moved around for a whole month before it settled in and started to eat and grow very fast.
I'd just see if anything has changed in the tank to find the possible cause.

Kenny, I just got my GBTA Thursday and then did a 20% water change yesterday. Well he didn't like it very much. Decided to shrink to almost nothing in the rock it was on. Then it swelled up and went walkabout. Settled on a rock under the overflow box so it's shaded from the light. Seems to be pretty happy there now but I guess it will move once it settles in.

This is right after I did a drip acclimation and put it in the tank.

And this is after it moved

Auto focus on my camera is going nuts trying to get a good picture. I'm going to play with the camera today to see if I can get better pictures. The first picture was with my cell phone camera and the other is with my good digital camera. LOL

It's actually a lot greener than the picture shows. This was after shrinking into the rock almost all the way, then swelling up and moving, then expelling waste. Ya at times they seem like they are going to croak then fill back up. Unless they are "melting" all is good.

Thanks folks. Anemone opened up beautifully this morning after I put on the lights. Maybe one of the fish stressed it out. It certainly doesn't like it when I do a water change, but it always come back. Beautiful animal. I big do they grow ?
