Bubble Tip Rose - Help! it Split

Just got a my 1st bubble Tip Rose, and I've been keeping it in a container the past week b/c my clown wont leave it alone. So I figured I'd feed it and grow it out a bit larger then release it into the tank.

But today I came home to find it split! Now it's twice as small and I honestly don't know if it's doing ok or not? If I let it go in the tank the clown will molest it till it dies. And I just don't know if they are doing well or not. Sometimes they inflate, sometime they looks deflated. But most of the time they are between inflated/deflated. I just need some advice what should I do?

How can I keep these two alive?

how much flow/ light should they get? I have a standard 90 gallon with a 6 bulb Tek T5 light on it.

it split probably because it was stressed... from the clown bullying it. In the pic it doesnt look too bad . rbtas are really strong I have seen them recover from powerhead shredding

keep them protected from the aggressive clown and they should recover and grow

I would put them in the tank & let them be. Put them so they can move to other rocks if they want. They will want to get their foot in a small crevice. The clown wont hurt it. Feed it very small meaty pieces every couple of days & enjoy them.

That big maroon may love the anemones to death. I would isolate the maroon until the BTA get bigger. diameter at least 3 times the size of the maroon. With you box everything, I just get the maroon back to the LFS until a later day when you got a much bigger BTA

The only problem I see is that it is not getting enough flow in that plastic container. I would place it/them in the display, on the side of a rock somewhere, and guard it with a plastic mesh strawberry container. Anemones breath through their tenticles and need water flow to do so.

Just my opinion :fun2:

I spoke too soon, I see that you have your bubble coral covered by a strawberry container. You *may* have enough flow on your bta with the slits in the side, but it still may be something to think about.
