I thought I’d share the transformation I have witnessed over the past four months in bringing a Bubble Tip Anemone back to health.
The first picture shows the anemone three days after it was brought home from an lfs. It has a touch of color in the stubby tips but the majority of the body was rather bleached. Fortunatly I talked the lfs into selling it for 20.00 because of its ill health.
The anemone wasn't in the tank for two days before the two percs I had hosted in it. For the first three months of living in my 6 foot reef, it was positioned about eight inches under 384w of 50/50 pc lighting. About a month ago I installed two 250w 14K metal halide lights. These lights were positioned on the other two thirds of the tank so as not to shine directly onto the anemone. It does get a tad bit of shimmer but no direct metal halide.
This is a picture taken today. What a difference four months of proper care and feeding make. The female perc in this picture is the same as in picture one.
