Bubble Trap Question

I am just about ready to install a bubble trap in my sump. I plan on installing 3 baffles. I have seen 2 methods:

One with the middle baffle like 2 inches off the floor with the baffles on either side going from the floor and ending 2 inches shorter than the center.

The second method is 3 baffles all going to the floor with the center one being shorter than the ones on either side.

My question is which one works better?

Thanks!

the second one is not possible...at least one needs to have a space on the bottom.

option #1
Over-Under-Over

Option # 2
Under-Over-Under

take a look at my gallery to see my sumps.

go with 1" spacing all the way around (including between baffles) 1-1/4" at most, not 2". The first configuration you mentioned is correct. You definitely want the outer baffles at the floor with the middle baffle 1" higher/off the floor

there is nothing wrong with doing 2" spaces...may be better because the water will go through that slower allowing more bubbles to burst...if you got the room, do 2" spaces...just my opinion
