I recently purchased a bubble tip anemone and a pair of maroon & Gold paired clowns. The clowns have been doing ok, not eating allot, the anemone was doing well but he wont sit still on live rock he has been moving around, I tried feeding him shrimp but he wont take it to eat it. Any ideas, I just found him upside down on the bed of the tank.

my saebae was doing the same thing.....really never stayed still. wish you the best of luck. i am someone here can point you in the right direction

How long has the BTA been in the tank? Secondly what are the params of the tank?

Another thing what type of lighting do you have?

Do you have any rocks that have deep holes in them that are sheltered from high flow?

With a BTA you can expect a good bit of movement until it is happy with the location -- basically it is moving day until the BTA decides that it is happy with everything in its environment. Personally never had one that was "upside down on the bed of the tank" -- if the foot is not attached to something I would think that something is wrong - thus the question -- what are the params of your tank?

Still Moving

I have checked ph 8.1, salinity 1.025, no ammonia, nitrates. I just added a protein skimmer, the tank is a 24g aquapod with power compacts that are on about 8 hours a day. I have had the anemone for about 5 days it attached to a rock right away and the clowns hosted right away. Now it's been on the move, as far as feedings what do you recommend, quantity, and method of feeding.

Thanks

Give it some time -- a week or so -- get some silversides -- the clowns should grab the food and take it to their host -- this includes flake food -- when the clowns take food to the BTA the food should be grabbed by the BTA -- it just sticks to its tentacles.

How big is the anemone and how big are the clowns?
Maroons are very hard on anemones and can make them move
from being stressed.
Please tell us the size of them all.

That is probably the problem Themi. You have two over agressive clowns in a softball size anemone.
I would remove one or the other, replace the anemone with a larger one to match there size if you can, or put it in another tank till it gets large enough to handle those roughhousers.
