I use them for water changes, rinsing sand/rock, transporting new critters from local reefers... use your imagination. Can never have enough clean buckets!

I guess how many is "all those" should probably come into play...
When I still used RC, it was a little less expensive to buy the box packaging and store it in the previously used pails. I store base malts for brewing beer in a couple of the screw top Reef Crystals pails, they're air tight and keep the grain fresh. A 5 gallon batch of beer may require 8 - 10lbs of grain, and buying a 50lbs bag cuts the per pound cost significantly.They're great for brining a couple Thanksgiving turkeys at once. They make great car wash buckets. I've mixed thinset, and grout for installing tile... Really the sky is the limit!

What he said. I've been at this for over 25 years now - I have yard buckets, trashcan buckets, waterchange buckets, icebucket buckets, etc, etc, et.....

What he said, can never have too many buckets! Just take the lids off and stack them inside each other. Then pile up the lids on top.

The buckets are not sealed. The tubing only has to remain at the bottom of each of the buckets. I used some left over PVC plumbing pieces to weigh down the tubing.
The water level will normalize across all 3 buckets and when the ATO kicks in and draws from the first, siphon action draws water from the other 2 buckets.

Turn them over and start a drum circle!
Or you could buy salt in BOXES. Then all you need to do is figure out what to do with all the boxes.
John 08007- as long as the tubes stay submerged and there's water in the tubes the buckets will equalize when water is taken out of one bucket. As soon as the siphon is broken from any of the tubes between the buckets the equalizing process will stop. Water has to be in the hoses between the buckets and no air pockets in the hoses. It's a simple concept to move water. This can be used for a lot of things. It's basically just like doing a water change using a hose to drain water from your tank. Just a little more elaborate. You could link 20 buckets like this and it would work.

How does the 2 lines connect to the other buckets. Can you get a picture of how this works. Are they teed off of main pump line. I need to add another one to my ato
