Finaly making is back out to Buffalo. Its been a while for sure. Looking to stop at ARC...does anyone know of any other places out there thats worth seeing?!

Saltwater Paradise (Maybe its saltwater specialties) in Tonowanda has a very nice selection and their prices are good. Employees are less helpful or attentive than ARC IME but their prices were cheaper for sure. There is also another saltwater store on Genesee St right in front of ARC. I have yet to go in there but I guess it is a recently opened store.

When I went on my buffalo trip

1. ARC: Beautiful place, awesome corals. (Customer service absolutely SH!@T
2. Theres a place right on the street right past the entrance to ARC. His name was Michael, dude was awesome. He cared to actually talk about his passion and cared about what I was looking for, and/or needed. He's relatively new (so he doesn't have very much) but I say it's definitely worth the stop!
3. Saltwater Paradise: An even mix of the two above. Good coral, and good customer service. (Be careful using google maps for saltwater paradise as it took me to the wrong place 3 times). Make sure you're actually on main street when you go.

Thats as far as actual businesses are concerned.

Individual hobbiests. I stopped at several which all had awesome coral. Brians got some sweet Acans if you're looking for any.

Don't be afraid to stop at the Rochester area stores on your way through. It won't be too far out of your way to visit ABC Aquarium in Fairport, and Caribbean Forest and The Reef Shoppe in Rochester. Marine Oasis is just outside of Rochester too. If you're really looking to make a day of it, The Salty Dog in Canandaigua isn't too far off the Thruway either.

Agreed, +1 for Reef shoppe and Salty Dog, they are my 2 favorites in the area.

Salty Dog for sure. I do the trip through Syracuse often back to Buffalo. MapQuest it and you can make it almost not out of the way at all. Nice little town for lunch as well...

I used to go to Salt Water Paradise long before ARC opened. It's a good shop that's gotten better since ARC gave it some competition. Joe's a nice guy like everyone has said too. Make it clear you know what you're talking about and he'll treat you well.

I suggest stopping by ARC, that new place in front of ARC and SWP. There's also The Fish Place in North Tonawanda, about a mile from SWP. Not a great salt water place though they sell fish and corals but they have an unbelievable fresh water display that takes up a wall. It must be a few thousand gallons

There is an issue going to SWP this weekend though... This week is Canal Fest which is right around SWP. That means you can stop by the beer tent and then pick up some fried dough to go with your frags. You might find parking an issue and I know SWP posted special hours during the festival.

I stopped by SWP last year during Canal Fest. It was great. I got my funnel cake and pepsi and walked over to see the corals. It was pretty dead in there so it was enjoyable.

my wife and i used to leave mid friday ,hit rochester and save some corals prepaid then off to buffalo via 104 and hitting a few others on the way then shop all day in buffalo and fill the car on sunday and come home with a couple thousand in fish and corals . sucks now that she cant travel farther then the end of the driveway without her neck going severly downhill within a few seconds . thoes were ther days
have fun aron

I'm certain the lfs 's listed will have something you will like. I have hundreds( too many to list ) of the medium to high end stuff: zoas, and sps, some low end. 30 or so chalices too ;but I'm not ready to frag many of chalices. If you have something specific in mind LMK.
