They are milkweed bugs, just very freshly sprung. If you do a search for pics of them, you'll see they can go from yellow to a darker red or anywhere inbetween. These will end up yellow and black.

I love this thread and have followed it for a long time. I finally picked up a macro lens a couple days ago, and am just figuring out how to use it. So, here are a few of my first bug shots (macro shooting tips would be very welcome!)
