Absolute stunning photos guys. This inspired me to post the one "bug" shot I have hahah. I'm not a macro guy but after looking at everyone's work I think I need to read up and work on it some. This was taken with a Nikon D90 and a 70-200 2.8 at about 20 feet away.

I mostly shoot sports. This is a better crop of the photo I think. Anyway...thanks for looking and I will now go back to drooling over the photos above

Very cool Steve! What, did you find a dead one on the ground, pose it on a pin and shop its tongue in? ;)

Neat shot. How did you get it?

The way bristles appear to originate from within the compound eye is freaky to me.

I know what you mean Reef Bass they are hard to capture. These ones were drinking from my sprinkler head so I had lots of time. Yeah I never saw the hair from the eyes before taking this macro.

Thanks Misled I used a 100MM with two extension tubes and this is a crop.

These were a bunch harder to get. They were on a lavender flower in the wind! Frikin drove me crazy.

Judging from the apparent mutual tolerance going on there, seems like maybe a female and smaller male of the same specie?

Just read up on them. The female eats her web every night, so finding them again may be tough unless there was an egg sac we didn't see. The small one is the male. The female dies after laying the eggs. It's called a Black and Yellow Argiope.
