Build thread of the Monterey Marinland 265 84x24x30

Your tank is bueatiful. My tank is just starting so I'm still debating weather to run the plumbing like yours or just connect the 2 returns to one in sump pump.

You could always use some vinyl to black out over the overflows if its an eyesore. Its not hard to apply at all. You can use tint if you still want to see through it a bit. I used black PVC in my overflows so they would blend in better. Doesn't seem to bother Mike.

Tank looks awesome Biggs. Cant wait to raid your frag rack!

Thankyou, that sounds good. I think I will look into that. Where do you get the vinyl?

Mike, I gotta say this was an incredible read, and a beautiful tank. The 265 was always my "dream tank," so it was great following along for the ride in this thread!

Tank looks amazing in person, you need an updated FTS because I see you've made some changes since the last one. Thanks for the trade! Good luck with the little one, hopefully he'll be calmer than mine. At least you have a canopy, LOL!

Life and Reefing

Wow! Just noticed all the is activity on my thread. ( :

Im officially a reefer for 2 years now. Its been very rewarding. Meeting many nice people and growing beautiful salter creatures continues to fascinate me.

Im usually the type who gets into something and drops it rather quickly, when I get bored. This has held my attention for quiet some time and the challenges keep me on my toes.

I have not been very active on the forum for couple reasons. I guess its safe to say now. I will be a dad of a baby boy soon and looking forward to the next exciting step in my life. There were and still are complications with my wife's pregnancy, but after being hospitalized for over 8 days under great care, and on strict bed rest for about 2 months now, we have made it farther than the doctors predicted.

At 26 weeks, she was rushed to hospital labor and delivery prepped for birth. As several days passed at hospital, they found the baby wanted to stay inside for more time. So, we are now grateful to be at 33 weeks and I have been taking care of my wife who cant wait to get out of the bed! Feeling the baby kicking my face last night through the skin is a feeling I can not describe. ( ;

Thanks for all the kind words and we look forward to being parents and would love to be part of a tank hop one day.

Sorry to hear about your wife's complications, but it is great to hear they have turned around for the better!

Beautiful tank / setup!

Kids are AWESOME! Get ready for the craziness....you saw a preview of it the other day, LOL! But its such a great experience. Glad everything worked out. I know how hard it is, because we had a scare with both pregnancies. My son loves my tank, and always wants to "feed the fish", LOL! Best of luck, and get ready to TRULY test your patience;)
