Building a 40 gallon stand

I have two 40 gallon breeders, one for the display tank, one for a sump. I've seen a bunch of posts about properly building a strong stand, but I'm wondering how to build it strong enough to hold the 40 on top while fitting a 40 inside.

I was thinking about building the frame bigger than the 40, obviously, and putting 3/4 ply on top where the display would sit. Would that be strong enough? I'm open to suggestions and would appreciate any help!

First, you should ask a Moderator to move this to the DIY section. You will get more responses there.

Second, with 40Bs top and bottom its perfectly fine to build the frame long enough to fit the tank in the base. The one on top should have plenty of support. Now, If you were trying for two really big tanks it could be an issue but at this size, the loads are pretty low and easy to handle.
