Thankyou Bbrantley been waiting for a long time for that. Are you going to be adding anymore fish, corals etc.?

lol, you really get an idea how BIG that tank is when looking at those yellow tangs, they look like damsels :D

I know isn't it. If only i could afford something like that.

You're welcome. And: most certainly. There are essentially no corals in there yet. Eventually it will be filled to the "brim." (Well, except that I designed it to leave large amounts of open space in between the rock pillars. I like the sand.)

There'll also be more fish, though I'm probably going to try to keep several larger groups rather than "one of every kind." We'll see if my patience holds out for that theory. :)

You must have alot of patience if i had a tank that big it would probably have about 100 fish in and about 1000 corals.

Your wish is my... command:

The depth on this is fantastic! Corals will deepen it too.

The sence of open space is great! Really taking advantage of the depth of the tank and it looks awesome!

Not that it isn't now, but, a year from now this tank is really going to be something special

What are you using for flow?

Eventually, a bunch of Tunze Streams. Read the last few pages for details on why...

I have to ask . . .any updates :D ?

Sort of. No specific improvements in place, but I have received the new, special magnets as well as a Deltec fluidized reactor. I need some plumbing parts to engage the reactor, but I plan to get it on the tank soon. Also, I noticed one single bubble of valonia on a rock.

I'll post more when I find a chance to make some progress. :)

Ben

A Deltec fluidized reactor for an 800 gallon tank....I spent the day today shopping around for a fluidized reactor for my 400, and determined that the Deltec were just crazy money...nice...but man, they really get a premium for their brand name.

I'm looking forward to seeing that in operation. Is it for RowaPhos...or Carbon? For me, I need more carbon. Based on where you are at...I'm betting you are thinking Rowaphos.

BTW...I've always had some valonia in my tanks and it has never been a problem. So, unless you just really dislike how it looks, don't assume that valonia is a serious problem.

Yeah, I actually got the very smallest FR. I actually ordered a different FR and didn't like it when it arrived (way too hard to work with, very tall and skinny, sucky). I then commenced an all-out assault on the FR market... and I couldn't find much of anything in stock that looked easy to clean, large enough, and well-built enough. I just decided "the heck with it" and shelled out for the Deltec.

This one is for GFO, yeah. I bought a big pail of it from that site that just sells reef chemicals.

If this FR works out well I will get another one for carbon. I don't believe I need to run nearly that much carbon to keep my tank clean, though, so it will certainly be overkill.

As for wiring it up, I really have to get another pump on my sump and a manifold set up off of it to direct flow to the various reactors and vessels. I'm probably going to work on that the last week of February, which I'm currently taking off specifically to work on "projects" around the house! :)
