Are you planning on dividing it and using half for the fuge and half as a sump?
If so, you will probably want to get some black plexiglass so you can contain the light to the fuge section.
What do you want the sump/fuge to do for you?
Grow amphipods and copepods?
Grow algae for nutrient export?
DSB for natural nitrate reduction?
Sump for skimmer, probes, heaters, makeup water, etc?
What you want it to do will influence how you set it up. However, most of what I have read recommends that a bigger fuge targeting about 50% or more of the volume of the display.
A 10 gallon tank which is partitioned into multiple sections isn't going to provide a lot of flexibility in what you use any of them for. But that being said, ten gallons is better than zero.
