Homebrew said:Yup... I think if you stay in the 150-180g range, you won't have too much of an equipment expense. Like you said, one more MH pendant a couple tunze's and another heater would get you by. Longer VHOs and a controller would be bonuses.
A couple holes in the wall and you can start migrating equipment to the garage like the big boys! Shall I bring my tools yet?

i think a 180 would be ideal for your room. since it's pretty much 3 rooms all open together, it wouldn't be overpowering at all. my father in law has a 125 in a space smaller than your area and it looks good, although boarderline a little small. a 180 would have looked better.thrlride said:Oh now you're killing me JR! I'm never going to get a 240 in there!
I'm hoping to get a 24" deep one. Jennifer likes the look of more sandbed anyway. The only problem being, I will have to have it closer to the wall.

i actually don't think it's overpowering at all since it's all pretty much open to the foyer and the main living room. where his tank is located i would consider more of a dining room. i like how he has a special seating area just for the tank. a tank like that you can stare at for several hours and never watch the same thing twice!Homebrew said:"Overpowering in the room" is reefcrazed Peter's 525g that takes up most of his living room. But even that is "overpowering" in a good way!
