Buildup of a 90 gallon Reef (picture intensive)

I'm doing my best to "forget" along the way bit by bit what I am spending here and there to set up my new tank. I just stop by Home Depot or the LFS and get something "small" each day. I dont want to know the total bill.
I figure sooner or later the wife will look at the credit card bill and add together ReefGeek + MarineDepot + YourReef + PetSmart + MarineDepot + XXX LFS..... eeeeeekkk :eek1:

HeHe then you might end up having to evict the dog from the doghouse:P hehe " move over rover daddy has to come sleep out here for a while mommy is mad at me" hehe j/k that's the sole reason I guess I'm glad I'm not married no one to tell me how to spend my money.. although being single, paying rent, utilities, food, etc all by your self definatly slows down how much ur able to spend each week :(

At least nano's are cheap.

Before any corals I probably had $2500 in the 90.
The 29 I already had so I've spent $120 on it for 35 pounds of rock and building the canopy. It would have been under $100 but I had to replace one PC bulb.
The 3 gallon cost nothing
The 5 gallon has cost me $70 so far since I borrowed sand/water and rock from my other tanks.

I dont think I am good enough at reef keeping for a nano. This 120 will be my first foray into reefing. I think that I would constantly have water chemistry crashes with a nano.
The stand is almost done... just finishing trim pieces and the pump is in the mail!!!

I haven't done a water change in my 3 gallon nano in over a month. It shows it but I just don't feel like it...

Horrible I know. A little cyano, other than that it is doing well.

All my energy is going to the 29 and 5 gallon now.

A LFS had a decent flame angel in stock for the 29 but they just got it today and their tank maint is suspect. I think I'll wait...

Ryan, how are all of your frags doing?

its been about 3 weeks since you posted a full tank shot :D hint hint :D

I'm going to post pics and a buildup log. However I am waiting a bit til I am closer to the end. I would hate to have a bunch of people following the thread asking me when I am going to have it done and me taking forever. :)

thanks Ryan. my frags grow really slow also. i actually think they end up healthier that way......in some cases :D im mine is one of them :D

JustOneMoreTank, is that a stab at me? ;) 9 months to put together my tank. That's how long lots of people had to endure my little updates. :D

Hahaha :lmao:
Sorry no. Not a stab. :lmao: I just dont want to have little to no progress on a daily basis and people get bored with it. Like today I glued on one piece of corner trim to mask my less than perfect corner. I have a few more to do. Then stain them all. I looked around at some stores for a sump. I want a glass tank with a footprint of 36"x18" thus a 40 Breeder, 50, or 65 gallon should all fit. Just dont want to spend too much on the sump if possible. I did order Oceans Motions Super Squirt today!!! Very pumped about that. :)

Sweet! The bigger the sump the better. I wish I would have designed my sump to allow an 18" width. Not going to happen with the 2x4's.

I just realized I said sump when I should have said I wish I would have designed my 'stand'.

More pics coming in 3

Toadstool getting bigger too. When I got this guy he was the size of a nickle. That was almost two years ago.

Here is a shot of an A. Nana. Slowly coloring up nicely.

Here is my green digitata and my Tort. He's browning a little :(

Another nana that has browned a lot. The brown sections should be dark green.

This rock used to be mainly purpleish brown zoos but the orange are taking off.

Not sure the name of this but it is growing nicely.

You might be able to see the acro crab hiding in here. This 'should' be carolina blue color. I haven't seen proof of that yet.
