Buildup of a 90 gallon Reef (picture intensive)

I'm still here! I'm leaving Detroit today...

I never even considered my thread being worthy there but now that yours was nominated I'm wanting some of the action too!

Maybe I should do a recap from the beginning since it has split so many times that all the info is buried very deep....

I gave you a vote but there seems to be more reefnecks than reefmonkeys. :D

I had one coral fall over during my charleston trip and is now starting to STN, of course only on the part that has had the most growth.... If it is all white is it a goner? Should I break off the white part?

I've never had to deal with this before...

break of the non-white parts and glue them to a rock - making sure ALL of the whitepart is detatched. Just a little bit still on the new frag, and it's gonna continue...

toddlaco gave me the x and the thread died!

I will have photos coming soon as well as a short movie of the tank.

Of course now I am considering a bigger tank. Either a 135 or a 180. :eek1:

If I go that route it will be a ways off as I need spousal approval (which I somewhat have) and I will need to start building a stand and canopy again. (shudder)

I told my wife about a 225 with stand and canopy for sale locally for $600 and then didn't mention it again. A few days later she was telling someone about it and said that she thought I was going to buy it! Then I got sticker shock with all the required equipment it will need.

It sure would be sweet though to have a 180 or even the 225.

Hey Ryan... you going to stick with 18" deep on your potential new tank or go for 24"? I know you were concerned about space issues in the room.

I still think we need to put some holes in your walls...

go for the 24". i don't think the extra 6" will impact the room that much judging from when i was there, but you'll be a lot happier with it inside the tank. not sure what the dimensions are on that 225, but i'd stick with a 24" x 24" end plate. 120, 180, 240 are all "perfect" tanks IMO (with the 240 being the best;) obviously)

Oh now you're killing me JR! I'm never going to get a 240 in there!

I'm hoping to get a 24" deep one. Jennifer likes the look of more sandbed anyway. The only problem being, I will have to have it closer to the wall.

Both of you have been to my house, do you think a tank this size would be overpowering in the room it's in?

I took a ton of pictures yesterday but was only happy with three of them.

Check out the growth on this deresa. The white part of his shell is all new and only a couple of months growth.

My clowns like to hide in this leather when I stick my hands in the tank or turn off the pumps.

A whole tank shot:

I still can't get a great pic without it being washed out. They turn out with good colors, just dim.

Here is a video of the tank. This will only be up 7 days until I can host it myself somewhere.

Sorry for the whining, she wanted me to take her picture. :)

I'm going to film another movie of the tank later with my camcorder and save it to the memory stick. At least the frame rate will be better and hopefully the quality as well.

Ryan I downloaded the movie, I will host it up for you in the next few days.

I use godaddy.com costs $4 a month and I get 25gb of transfer. Thinking of upgrading to 100gb of transfer for $7 though.

Does it cap you at 25 gb or does it charge you for the extra?

It will charge me if I go over, that is why I use that program for all my downloads. I am hosting like 10 videos right now, and just to make sure I can put daily, weekly, or total download limits on the videos. Works well for me. The most I have used so far is 19gb in a month. So far this month I have used 5gb. And that is with 4 video's hosted in James thread which is thread of the month.
