bulk di resin order

I am going to order mixed bed di resin within a month. they do not have in stock the resin I want but I do alot of business with the company through work so they are going to order the resin I want on there next order. it should be within a month. the price is right around $240 per cubic foot shipped which is somewhere between 30-35 10 inch cartridges packed pretty tightly. there are approximately 7.5 gallons in a cubic foot. this is alot of resin. I want a minimum 1/3 of a cubic foot but would prefer to keep 1/2. if anyone is interested please let me know. I will break it down into 1/4 or thirds only. not going to break it down into each canister that is too much work for free. I am not making anything off this it just allows me to get the portion I want and save myself and anyone intersted quit a bit on di resin. the brand of resin should be resintech or purolite. each being at the top of there game so it's a win win situation.

Rob, am I misunderstanding something?

I buy bulk DI resin from John. It runs (last time I bought it anyway) about $19 and I get 2 1/2 cartridge refills out of it. That works out to $7.60 per cartridge, so 30 cartridges would cost $228 and 35 cartridges would cost $266. Are you sure it is going to be cheaper to buy bulk from this other supplier? You thought about what happens if, say 1/2 of it dried out before you got around to using it? Seems to me like you are taking a huge risk with very little, if anything, to gain.

why would it be a risk if I keep it sealed. the last time I bought it was almost 2 years ago and I just filled my last cartridge the other day. it is still wet. even if you thought it might be drying out you could add a small amount of ro/di water and mix it up to keep it wet. you can buy generic resins for probably $100 a cubic foot. you can buy color changing or anything else you want. some last longer than others. what I am buying is high capacity non color changing good resin. if you want to compare that to an unknown resin thats cool but I know exactly what I am buying and it lasts a good long while. another thing to ask when buying resin is whether or not it's virgin or regenerated. I have no clue what johns is I am sure it is virgin knowing john but just trying to explain why I am buying what I am buying.
anyone wanting to use johns resin I would have to say go for it because it is good resin. it's not what i want but it's good resin. I have researched and talk to our water purification lab about it and I settled on this resin. it still isn't the best resin out there but if we wanted to spend around $400 a cubic foot we could get even better resin. yes it works better what I want pulls an extra .1 megaohms the better stuff pulls an extra .2 megaohms. and and both have a low TOC throw or manufacturing polutants. they use a solvent I think while making it and there is less to be put into your clean water in the better resins. I am sure john has looked into all this but I don't know what he uses and I have been dealing with this company a long time and they will order 1 or more bags of what I want.
so as I see it lots to gain for an extra $10 or even saving $20 something.

hey dave it seems co2 is more of a factor than drying out. again keep it sealed and it will last as long as you want. under good conditions I have never seen a shelf life listed anywhere. making it turn bad would be user error.
