This is a public forum, I'm sharing my experience and my opinion of the experience. You can call it bashing if you like but I don't believe I am out of line here
Ok, I am going to chime in here for a second.. Simply because I know about the setup..
That 150gpd unit is not for one that does not know about ro units(non basic ones).. Or is fairly new to ro units (meaning the dual membrane setups)..
I will say that, for them, this should be a learning lesson, because in this instance, you really didn't know what you were buying.. Imho, they assume that the person purchasing will do "some" homework and read directions.. But obviously that is not the case..
You saw the 150gpd, and ran with it.. Anyone that has messed with ro units for a while knows you aren't going to get that level of performance(rejection or gpd) on just pretty much plug and play with low pressure.. And a dual Membrane(or even the 100 gpd membranes) setup "needs" pressure(honestly ,a good 80 to 90lb).. Which most of the time(the vast majority of the time) means booster pumps to get the rated capacity and performance. I have a single membrane setup, but yes the actual membrane is Dow because they are the best, and yes, I have a booster, because I know I want the best rejection, along with increased flow.. I see that you didn't know that honestly and it's a fairly new to ro units mistake..
I guess I see both sides, but, IMHO, most of the responsibility is on you as the buyer.. And That comes from a person that has bought a lot of stuff that I probably shouldn't have.. But at the same time, I investigate heavily before I take the plunge.. I know I would never buy something that I had no idea how to work it.. And you honestly didn't..
So in a sense (large and majority sense), you should take responsibility also, and be glad(and thankful) that it is brs and they are working to make you happy(that's what makes brs special) .. Because really, they don't have to in this instance, and most places wouldn't..
But I strongly recommend that you read instructions and investigate more thoroughly(before you whip out the plastic) . Because most places aren't as nice as brs..

Forum, you keep saying that. I don't think it means what you think it means.

No, I didn't miss that part at all.. But the question is, do "you" know why you are getting possibly close to that rejection rate(which you very well may have, but then, maybe you didn't, are you so sure? And there is a way to be sure, but I'm wondering if you actually know or are just saying and speculating)? "I know"the reason why, and it goes to the heart of what I was and am saying.. I may seem antagonistic, but I believe in knowing.. And I really really think this is something you could learn from (from the way it sounds)..It's resolved now but you clearly missed the part where I stated I already had a Spectra Pure unit running under the same conditions, without a pump and was getting 98% rejection

You asked me that, but can you explain why? Since you asked.. And if you don't know, admit you don't, and I will break it down and explain it to you.. I'm being sincere..

Ok, I actually have a question.. How long would it take to fill a 5 gallon bucket? Something doesn't add up and now I'm curious..I know the rejection rates I was getting based on the TDS meter telling me what the source water was and what the post membrane TDS reading was. Thats how I know my Spectra Pure was getting 98% and my BRS was doing 90% and I know that the Spectra Pure was a 180GPD unit and the BRS unit was a 150GPD unit, so its a pretty apples to apples comparison. If you are asking if I know the exact science behind the reason that the two units rejection rates differ than no I do not but based on their explanation, it appears because of the types of membranes that BRS uses and the way that they are plumbed, they require a higher pressure and they have a TDS threshold where they lose efficiency.
