Bulkhead leaking (Pictures)

OK, this is a very stupid problem, so i am sorry that you have to read through this. Whats going on, should i put the gasket on the other side.

Everything is taped and tightened very tight. Any more tightening would require a wrench (afraid i would over tighten). Bulkhead is LEAKING (very slowly) where the gasket usually is (NOT leaking at the output/threaded connector)

Below is the overview of my setup, im hooking two tanks together (fuge left and 10g right)

Below is a close up of the two, notice the gaskets inside (water side), but the bulkheads are reversed

this is ust a guess but is it possible that those 2 bulkheads are not perfectlly aligned and one is "tweaking" the other one so it is unable to make a good seal

yes that is actually very possible. I had everything completely empty and as i tightened i tried t "feel" if it was mis-aligned.

This is not reef related, so I might be able to help. It is hard to see, but if you don't have seals on the inside as well, the bulkhead could leak. Imagine if there was only one tank with just a bulkhead sticking out of it. The bulkhead would just dangle because there is nothing nutted to the inside. I think adding seals to the inside will fix your leak. And a setup like that would require those holes to be aligned unless you were using some sort of flex line. Also, if they are not pretty close to perfect, you will stress out the glass...especially if the alignment is out vertically. If for any reason one of those tanks get bumped, you could have a real mess. If there was anyway to get a flexline in there, that would really help. That's the opinion of a guy who works on process loops for a living....not a reefer.

I can't really tell from your pictures but the gaskets always go on the flanged side regardless of if it is inside or outside. Do you have the gaskets on the flanged side?
